Welcome to kalimbahome, kalimba is a musical instrument that originated in Africa.
My story with it can be traced back to 2002, when I went to Kenya as a volunteer in Africa, a place associated with hunger, war and disease, I was there teaching children to read and write, and to be honest, life was really hard, and I gave my all to help them.
While you were giving, you were also getting, and by coincidence, I came to know the kalimba, a simple musical instrument , but motivated many people with difficult lives, this is an unforgettable and precious memory.

Easy to pick up and play, even with little to no musical experience. It comes pre tuned but some of the notes were slightly off. You can use a phone tuner to make it perfect if desired and it stays in tune pretty well. I love the design of this one with the deer cutout in the center and the wreath carving under it. The blue stain on the wood makes it look a lot nicer than the standard brown color and it looks nice just sitting on a table.
The overall tone is pretty good, similar to other small kalimbas. This one comes with a carrying case, a very simple instruction guide, and a nice box with colorful artwork on it. Overall, nothing to complain about. It’s nicer than I was expecting and a lot of fun to play. Notes are embossed on each key which helps with tuning and for people that read music, it makes it a bit easier to play simple songs once you get used to playing it.
